INCISA DAL TEMPO

Once, an intaglio was far more than a piece of jewelry.
It was a seal, a mark of identity, a way to authenticate a name, a document, an allegiance. Worn by people of status and authority, engraved gemstones carried images so finely carved that, when pressed into wax, they left a distinctive impression — a personal sign that could speak on the wearer’s behalf.
Incisa dal Tempo is a collection of jewelry centered around intaglios.

Centuries passed. States disappeared, languages changed, cities were destroyed and rebuilt. Yet these small carved stones continued to travel from hand to hand, outliving generations of their owners.

Incisa dal Tempo is not a reconstruction of ancient jewelry.

It is a collection of contemporary relics, where an ancient visual language acquires a new voice. A scorpion, a swan, a lion, a flower, a human profile — each image carries the memory of another culture and another age, yet becomes part of a new personal history.

Silver in this collection is deliberately stripped of flawless perfection. Its surfaces recall metal that has lived a long life, retaining traces of time, touch and transformation. Set against such a surface, an ancient intaglio no longer resembles a museum specimen. It returns to what it was made to be in the first place: a personal mark, worn close to the body.

Some objects are valued not by their age, but by their ability to connect different times. This collection is devoted to precisely such objects.

New intaglios can also be created by private commission.

You may choose the subject, the stone and the form of the future piece — from a distinctive signet ring to a complex one-of-a-kind composition. Each work is individually designed and handcrafted in the Eugenika Jewels studio.
